My Approach: Mindfulness based counselling
Listening deeply to my clients and developing a constructive, respectful relationship, is the foundation of our work together.
I am always guided by the best interests of my clients, and tailor our sessions to resonate with them.

My approach is firmly grounded in mindfulness. Time after time,
I am amazed at how deepening awareness and developing compassion can start a process of transformation.

I combine this ancient wisdom with modern, evidence-based modalities that help to translate these ideas into practical tools and skills that can help people in everyday life.

Some of the modalities that inform my counselling are:

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
What I love about this approach is that instead of working to get rid of certain symptom, ACT works to increase the client's ability to accept the symptom, while focussing on living a rich, value led life. Research shows that acceptance leads to a decrease in the symptom.

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
DBT acknowledges the necessary existence of opposing forces and works to create a synthesis of the two. A client can work to accept themselves as they are and also work to change. DBT provides a wealth of practical tools that support acceptance and change.
